Finished a two story house last week - again very hot

Finished another house in Fishers last Tuesday. It took me five days including pressure washing, preparation, replacing rotting fascia board, painting, and spraying. Used three gallons of Sherwin Williams top of the line exterior paint called Emerald. 

Steps:
  1. Pressure washed all the wood trim. Let dry for one day;
  2. Scraped, caulked, and primed;
  3. Applied 3 gallons of paint on all the wood trim, gutters, and garage steel door;
  4. Cleaned up and did a walk-through with customer.
Challenges:
  • A lot of preparation including scraping, feathering, and caulking;
  • Replaced a rotting board on a high peak tucked back on the roof line;
  • Very high peaks and some tough roof lines.

Fishers exterior ranch

Finished another exterior trim job in Fishers last week. It took me three days including pressure washing, preparation, wood replacement, painting, and spraying. Used two gallons of Sherwin Williams top of the line exterior paint called Duration. 

Steps:
  1. Pressure washed all the wood trim. Let dry for one day;
  2. Replaced rotting wood;
  3. Caulked using both white and clear caulk (around brick). Used 3 tubes;
  4. Applied 2 gallons of paint on all the wood trim;
  5. Sprayed out steel garage door;
  6. Cleaned up and did a walk-through with customer.
Challenges:
  • Very hot all week

Fishers two story house - wood trim only

Finished another house in Fishers on Wednesday. It took me three days including pressure washing, preparation, and painting. Used one gallon of Sherwin Williams top of the line exterior paint called Duration. 

Steps:
  1. Pressure washed all the wood trim. Let dry for one day;
  2. Caulked using both white and clear caulk (around brick). Used 5 tubes;
  3. Applied 1gallon of paint on all the wood trim;
  4. Cleaned up and did a walk-through with customer.
Challenges:
  • A lot of preparation including scraping, feathering, and caulking;
  • Working over a Pergola in the backyard that required standing on a plank to get to the trim;
  • Stung twice on the ear by a honey bee.

Fishers exterior trim

Finished the exterior trim job on Friday. It took me two days including pressure washing, preparation, and painting. Used one gallon of Sherwin Williams top of the line exterior paint called Duration. 

Steps:
  1. Pressure washed all the wood trim. Let dry for one day;
  2. Caulked using both white and clear caulk (around brick). Used 4 tubes;
  3. Applied 1gallon of paint on all the wood trim;
  4. Cleaned up and did a walk-through with customer.
Challenges:
  • Painting the caulk around the wood on the brick front took extra time;
  • I had to be careful around all the plants around the house.

Fishers PetSuites Shutters

 Pulled and spray-painted 20 shutters on the PetSuites building. Used Sherwin Williams top of the line exterior "Resilience" paint. 

Note: A rain shower hit when I had half the shutters finished and I had to respray six shutters.

Steps:
  1. Set-up sprayer in the back of the building;
  2. Pulled the 20 shutters off the building;
  3. Took approximately 2 hours to spray out the shutters including the respray;
  4. Put shutters back on the building.
Challenges:
  • Rain showers;
  • Had battery issues with my electric drill.
